The whole story is simple and adorable if I do say so myself. It started in March 2013, I asked Jenn if she would go steady with me, she said “yes!”. In May 2014, I asked Jenn to move in with me, and she said “yes!”. In October 2014, I asked her to move to Seattle with me, she said “yes!”. On March 28, 2015, I asked Jenn to trust me and play along for our two year anniversary and she said “yes!”.
On the 30th of March 2015, I just wrapped up a duty day, and I left a bit early to work on the surprise. I created a small app that I loaded onto her tablet, and a website that was a scavenger hunt. Jenn was only able to see one of the tasks at a time and was not able to go back and see the previous tasks. Below are the beginning words of the tasks:
Walk… Inspect… Light… Lose… You… Open… Update… Make… A… Rachel… Resist… You… Make… Explore…
The last task had her meet me at the Seattle Woodland Zoo! Where I met her and started our wonderful day together. We walked around the zoo for a couple hours, then we went home where I pre-staged a few dozen flowers primarily Tulips and Roses, and picked up the apartment. From here we got ready for the evening!
We went to all the touristy attractions in Seattle center, Chihuly Garden, followed by the Space Needle, and subsequently dinner at Mamnoon in Capitol Hill (delicious!). After our “date night” was over we went for a drive, first out to the U District, through Fremont, South Lake Union, Belltown, Pioneer Square, all ending at Jefferson Park. Where I got down on one knee and asked the Love of my life to share the rest of our lives together.
She said yes!
